Capitol Analysis’ staff is comprised of a diverse team with various scientific, mathematical, medical, and business backgrounds. Together they bring significant lab and cannabis experience.

Jeff Doughty

CEO and Chemistry Manager

I earned my Master’s Degree in Physics from Portland State University in 2010, and continued work towards an Applied Physics PhD.   In 2012, I left the Physics Department (and Oregon) to pursue dreams of cannabis, forming The Chemical Analysis Group, a small, one-man chemistry lab for medical cannabis in the Olympia area.  After a number of years there, I decided to change course and share my vision with my partners and form Capitol Analysis for the recreational cannabis market. This has allowed me new capabilities that I was unable to achieve alone. Thankfully, it’s no longer a one man show and I now have the ability to bring my vision to you.

As a physicist in the cannabis industry, it is my duty to bring realistic numbers to the table.  I understand that my customers are making existential decisions based on the test results that I provide.  As such, it is my job to give you the most realistic data, as quickly and affordably as possible, without playing any of the games.  And when failures do end up rearing their ugly head, I am personally here to help you determine causes and find solutions.

Brendan Manning

Chief Sales Officer

I’ve worked in many different capacities—from sales to construction—but nothing has brought me joy like working in the cannabis industry. I started out as a manager of The Herbal Center where I built relationships with not only the producer/processors but also the public. Those relationships have given me the opportunity to continue to be involved in the industry but from a different point of view.

As a native Washingtonian I have seen the state steadily transform. The legalization of cannabis in our state was one of the greatest ideas ever put into action, not just from an economic standpoint but from an industry leadership standpoint. I am very excited about being a part of building something new. I hope to continue to mold the industry in a positive light and bring prosperity to Capitol Analysis.

Dr. Jamie Doughty

Director of Business Development

I was born and raised in Canada. I love the outdoors and have always been drawn to the mystery and beauty of nature. The exciting field of cannabis research and development is just beginning. I have a deep understanding of the endocannabinoid system and its effects on human physiology. I fully believe in the application of cannabis to the pharmacological and clinical practice of medicine in Washington State.

Christine Hartman

Microbiologist

I earned my BA/BS from The Evergreen State College in 2010. I bring three years of experience in an environmental analysis laboratory, the last two years of which have been focused on microbiological method development and analysis of cannabis products.  I have a strong interest in medical cannabis research and look forward to learning more as the cannabis industry continues to grow.

In my role as microbiologist, I take pride in ensuring the safety of cannabis for immunocompromised patients and casual consumers alike.
